Police on Thursday ordered a probe after a picture of eight people, including a YouTuber, standing in undergarments at the Kotwali police station in Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh went viral on social media. The investigation of this case has been handed over to Sub Divisional Police Officer Gayatri Tiwari.
According to The Indian Express, Sidhi SP Mukesh Srivastava told that an inquiry has been ordered against Gayatri Tiwari and action will be taken against whoever is found guilty after its investigation. He said that irrespective of the offense committed by the criminals, such action is not acceptable. He said that on the basis of prima facie evidence, Town Inspector Manoj Soni and SHO Abhishek Singh have been sent to the police lines.
This picture was clicked on April 2 and was going viral on social media with a message. SP Srivastava said that on April 2, the Kotwali police had arrested theater artist Neeraj Kunder for making indecent remarks against the BJP MLA and his family. The BJP MLA had registered a case in this matter at the Kotwali police station.
Why were clothes taken off at the police station? investigation being done
The SP said that during the investigation, the police sought information about the post and IP address from Facebook. After this, he was arrested after the investigation found its connection with Neeraj Kunder. To protest the arrest, a group of around 40 people, including relatives and friends of Kunder and a YouTuber, gheraoed the police station in the evening and started raising slogans. The SP said that he was taken into custody in this case. But why their clothes were taken off and who did it is being investigated. According to the police, those who were taken into custody were booked under section 151 of the IPC and released after a few hours.
