False cases are being made against the farmers by the electricity company, and action is being taken to present their cases in the court and send them to jail, which is wrong. In Sheopur, the power company is robbing the farmers by becoming the East India Company. Against the arbitrariness of the power company, Radheshyam Meena Mundda, State President of the Bharatiya Kisan Union Chaduni, said this while gheraoing the General Manager’s office along with the farmers. While demonstrating, the farmers gave a memorandum to Tehsildar Sanjay Jain and the officers of the company regarding their demands. During this, the police of Kotwali, Countryside, Baroda police station remained present on the spot for security.
It is mentioned in the memorandum that, by the Electricity Department, such farmers of the district who do not have electricity connection. By making cases of electricity theft against them, notices are being given for illegal recovery of electricity bills and farmers are being sent to jail forcibly through courts. Due to which the farmers are suffering mentally, economically and socially. It has been demanded in the memorandum that the fake cases being made against the farmers by the company should be withdrawn. Also, other problems should also be resolved soon. A large number of police forces were also deployed during the farmers’ protest. Radheshyam Meena Mundla, state president of Bharatiya Kisan Union Chaduni, who is leading the protest, said that farmers are being harassed due to the arbitrariness of the electricity department in the district. Bills are being given to them arbitrarily and farmers are being put in jail by making a police case for recovery of bills. During the demonstration by the farmers, the DGM North Srinivas Yadav of the electricity company, who was present on the spot, was told by the farmers that you are torturing the farmers unnecessarily. Along with the problem of electricity, the farmer is suffering from the arbitrariness of the company. They are being paid more bills than the load. Farmer leader Radheshyam has also warned the officials to stage a sit-in if the problems are not resolved within 5 days. A large number of farmers including Radheshyam Meena, Nathulal Meena, Girraj Meena, Rakesh, Dharmendra Singh, Ramlakhan, Omprakash, Naresh, Harishankar, Rambharat, Ramavatar Meena, Hansraj were present during the memorandums.
Deployed police of three police stations –
In view of the farmers’ movement, SP Alok Kumar Singh took it seriously. He deployed the police of City Kotwali, Dehat and Baroda police stations for security. Along with Hazareshwar Park from where the farmers gathered together and also got the videography of the gherao done till the SE office on Shivpuri road.
