Superstar Rajinikanth was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the film’s highest honour, at the 67th National Film Awards ceremony. Rajinikanth was given the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his 45-year contribution to the film industry. Apart from Rajinikanth, Manoj Bajpayee, Dhanush and Kangana Ranaut were also honored.
Manoj Bajpayee was awarded the Best Actor Award for the film ‘Bhonsle’ and Dhanush for his brilliant performance in the South film ‘Asuran’. Apart from this, Kangana Ranaut was given the Best Actress Award for the film Manikarnika. All the film stars were honored by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.
Apart from the film actors, Sushant Singh Rajput’s film Chhichhore got the award for Best Hindi Film. Apart from this, the film was also given the Rajat Kamal Award. Jersey was preferred in this category of Telugu film while Jersey was preferred as a Tamil film. The Screenplay Award went to Tasakand Files and Singer B Praak was given the Rajat Kamal Award for the song ‘Teri Mitti’.
