This is a very important news for the enthusiasts of compact sport utility vehicles (SUVs). Now the smaller and better looking SUV lovers are going to get a chance to choose a new option. French major automaker Renault has started testing its coupe-style compact SUV Arkana in India. With this, the possibilities of launching this SUV in India have also increased. Recently this car has been spotted during testing, in which a small glimpse of it has been seen.
Let us tell you that recently Renault has stopped production of its famous SUV Duster in the Indian market and before that the Capture model was discontinued in the year 2020 itself. Now the company’s vehicle portfolio has become very light, so the discussion of launching the new model is in full swing. At present, the company is only producing the Kiger SUV regularly and it would be a good move if the company adds new models to its vehicle line-up soon.
In the global market, the Renault Arkana comes in a total of two versions, one of which is built on the ‘B0’ platform and the other model is based on the ‘CMF-B’ platform. Out of this, the first model is sold in the Russian market and the second model is available for sale in Europe and South Korea. Although no information has been received about it yet, which model will be introduced in the Indian market. On the other hand, the company has not yet given any indication about officially launching this SUV in the Indian market.
As far as the size is concerned, this SUV will compete with the models like Tata Harrier, MG Hector etc. present in the Indian market. Now what will be its cost, it will play an important role in its success. Looking at the design, it has been given a sloping coupe-style look, sharp headlamps, attractive taillights along with it has been decorated with premium features.
In the international market, this SUV comes with two engine options, in which 1.3 liter turbo-petrol and 1.6 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine have been given. Apart from this, there is also a chance to choose mild hybrid variants. In the Indian market, the company has already been using the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine in its models like Kicks and Duster. So it is believed that with this engine the new Renault Arkana can be introduced in the Indian market.
It is reported that the new Arkana will be launched in the market by the end of this year and its price will be between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. Experts believe that only after the Duster was discontinued, the company has started testing its new SUV in India. In the last few years, there has been a tremendous increase in the demand for SUV vehicles in the Indian market. In such a situation, this segment has been favorable for most of the vehicle manufacturers.
