Dongargaon (Naiduniya News). In order to get justice for the family of tribal farmer Suresh Netam, the BJP is sitting on an indefinite hunger strike regarding the farmer’s family. The hunger strike continued for the sixth day on Saturday. The farmer family sitting on hunger strike near Kumarda bus stand is demanding Rs 50 lakh as assistance. In the strike, along with the BJP workers, the farmer’s wife Gaindbai and their three children are also on strike for the last six days. Continuous strikers are also getting support. Senior BJP leaders have also extended their support to the hunger strike.
Gond Mahasabha central president MD Thakur and district panchayat member Lalita Kanwar supported the hunger strikers and accused the state government of ignoring the farmer’s family. MD Thakur said that the Congress government of the state is not sensitive towards farmers and tribals. The government has completely failed in providing justice to the tribals. Due to which the wife of the tribal farmer Late Suresh Netam and his children have to sit on a hunger strike to demand justice.
Officials gave support
On Saturday, the officials of Churia and Dongargaon Mandal BJP supported the hunger strike. During this, district in-charge of Kisan Morcha Chandrika Dadsena, General Secretary Bodhan Sahu, Ghasi Sahu, Deendayal Sahu, Sundar Sahu, Dhal Singh Sahu, Daman Sahu, Anant Tiwari, Panchu Ram Padoti, Pritam Sahu, Nutan Sahu, Yogendra Rajput, Naveen Sahu, Chova Ram Sahu, David Kaushal, Shailesh Kaushik, Hriday Chandravanshi, Dileshwar Manikpuri, Deva Sahu and other activists were prominently present.
Suresh Netam, a farmer from Keregaon, committed suicide due to debt and falling acreage. But the government-administration has brushed off the farmer’s death as a personal reason. Whereas in reality the farmer has committed suicide due to low acreage and debt due to wrong policies of the government. In protest against this, farmer Suresh Netam’s wife Gaind Bai Netam and their three children are on hunger strike. He was accompanied by BJP Kisan Morcha District President Hirendra Sahu, BJP Yuva Morcha State Minister Kailash Sharma, Kumarda Mandal President Gopal Sahu, former BJP Mandal President Anirudh Chandrakar, Sumit Mandavi, Rajwantin and others were present.
