Virat achieved a special feat with his debut in the first Test against Sri Lanka that began on Friday. He became the 12th cricketer in India and the 71st in the world to play 100 Test matches. During this, India’s head coach Rahul Dravid honored him with a special cap of Team India and congratulated him.
The 33-year-old then batted brilliantly in the first innings and looked in the old colours, though he once again failed to play a big knock and was dismissed for 45. Seemingly in good form, Virat was dodged and bowled by Sri Lankan left arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya.
Earlier, India scored a mammoth score of 574 against Sri Lanka on the back of Ravindra Jadeja (175 *) brilliant century.
