Amazon online shopping: Amazon today announced a new feature, which will allow the company’s AI Assistant to buy products from other retailers on behalf of its users without leaving Amazon’s platform. The new Amazon Buy for Me Feature is available only in beta mode for selected users. There is no information about whether Amazon Buy for Me is planning to bring the feature in another market as well.
Amazon got ‘by for me’ feature details
Amazon’s new ‘by for me’ feature runs on Amazon Bedrock, a service that makes buyers a generative AI-based application with multiple high-performance large language models (LLM). It provides power to an agent AI-based agent using Amazon’s Nova and Anthropic’s Claude model that purchases on other sites on behalf of users. As a part of this new experience, Amazon will begin to list the products of third -party vendors in its shopping app that are not available on its platforms. Buyers will see a new -party vendors or a new ‘buy for me under the list products from the brand store. On clicking on the bye for me button, users will reach the checkout page on Amazon, where they have to confirm their order details such as preferred delivery address, applying, shipping fee and payment method. Amazon will then encrypted all these details and then provide them to a third party seller to complete the checkout process on the seller’s site. Once Amazon buys from the buyer. Buyers will be able to track their orders in your order section in the new ‘by for me’ order tab in the Amazon shopping app. Amazon says that delivery, returns, exchange and customer service will be managed by brand store or third party seller in relation to products purchased using this new feature. When buyers select the shop direct option, they will be taken from Amazon’s platform to the brand website to process their order.

As far as availability is concerned, Amazon says that this new feature is being launched in the Amazon shopping app on Android and iOS for selected users in the US. The company says that initially it will be available with a limited number of brand stores and products. Gradually it will add to its feature and the product and brand.
