New Delhi. Bhartiya Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is the oldest telecom company in India. BSNL, which has been providing its services in India for the last 21 years, is authorized by the Government of India. BSNL provides mobile telecom, landline as well as broadband internet facility to its customers. But recently BSNL has decided to make a big change in its broadband plans. BSNL is soon going to discontinue all its prepaid broadband plans in all its circles of the country.

Reasons for discontinuing BSNL prepaid broadband plans
BSNL ()’s prepaid broadband service is available only in Digital Subscriber Line (DSL). Prepaid broadband internet users get unlimited high speed broadband internet access without any monthly bill. For this they have to recharge on prepaid basis. But the subscriber base of BSNL’s prepaid broadband is not huge, which does not benefit the company much on this service. In such a situation, the company has soon decided to discontinue all its prepaid broadband plans in all circles of the country.

What will happen to the existing prepaid broadband users of BSNL?
The news of BSNL shutting down all its prepaid broadband internet plans soon raises questions in the minds of its users that what will happen to them now? Will they have to switch from BSNL to some other telecom company? But nothing like that will happen. BSNL will shift all its prepaid broadband internet users to postpaid broadband service. With this, the BSNL connection and number of the users will remain, only from prepaid to postpaid. BSNL will also give a discount for this.
