While Apple lovers are crazy about the upcoming iOS 16 software update for iPhones, Android lovers on the other hand are eager for Android 13. The mobile software is official by Google since it was announced in February. However, the company has restricted it to developer beta only for now. We expect the public beta to arrive at the earliest, probably around the Google IO 2022 conference, which is scheduled to take place in May this year. While it is not certain when all the OEMs will be rolling out the new OS to many of their smartphones, a new report seems to suggest that Samsung smartphone users may be the first to get Android 13.
It is reported that Samsung will be rolling out the Android 13 software update for the first time in the form of OneUI 5.0 beta version. SamMobile says that this version can come by July. This will likely give the South Korean tech firm enough time to work on the fix and test Android 13 before releasing the stable version later this year.
Samsung’s Consistency With Software Updates
It is worth noting that according to Google’s release schedule for Android 13, the software will hit platform stability around the July-August time frame. With this, Samsung users will not feel that they are behind in terms of rollouts and updates. In addition, Samsung has significantly improved its software and security update rollout process. It has often been seen that the latest security updates arrive on Samsung phones first every month, even before the Pixel models. Last year, the company was the first to bring Android 12 to its devices, about 30-40 days after Google first introduced it on Pixel handsets.

But all that said, Samsung’s plans aren’t quite certain for now. The rollout time frame may also change depending on how long the company takes to fix the issues. However, if everything happens on time, we should see the first wave of updates coming to South Korea, the US and European regions, followed by a number of other countries and handset models.
Samsung phones eligible for Android 13 based update
The first set of phones to get OneUI based on Android 13 could be the Galaxy S22 model, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 (as and when it launches) or the Flip 4. As per the list, it should also reach the Galaxy S21, S20 series, Galaxy A and Galaxy M series. However, the report states that Samsung may release OneUI 4.1.1 for its select foldable phones before OneUI 5.0.
