The 5G launch in India is not far away. 5G spectrum auction can be held in June, a few months after which telecom companies like Jio and Airtel are ready to start 5G service. That is, we can see the launch of 5G network in India by September or October. Meanwhile, Jio, Airtel and Vodafone-Idea are currently doing 5G trials. Jio has got strong speed during testing, but the speed of Vodafone-Idea is far ahead of Jio.
Vi’s speed will surprise you
Jio has announced its quarterly economic results on Friday. Apart from this, the company revealed that it has done 5G field testing in eight states. Jio said that the company has got 1.5Gbps speed during the ongoing field trials in 8 states. However, this is much less than the testing speed of Vi. Let us tell you that Vodafone Idea has claimed that it had achieved 5G download speed of 3.7Gbps during its testing in September.

Subscribers decreased, ARPU increased
All three telcos had made prepaid plans expensive in December. Due to this, there has been a decrease in the customer base of Jio by 10.9 million in the fourth quarter of FY22. The total customer base stood at 410.2 million as of March 2022. Whereas ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) has increased to Rs 167.6 per subscriber per month during the quarter. Jio’s ARPU was Rs 151.6 in the December quarter.
