Samsung already has two foldable smartphone lineups: the Galaxy Z Fold and the Galaxy Z Flip. As per a report by Galaxy Club, it seems that the tech giant is gearing up for the third generation, which is expected to debut this year. This device is expected to be like a foldable laptop. Samsung is expected to launch three foldable phones this year, codenamed B4, Q4 and N4.
The report suggests that the B4 model is the Galaxy Z Flip 4 as the “B” stands for “Bloom”, which is a known encoding. The Q4 model is likely to be the Galaxy Z Fold 4 as the Fold 3 was codenamed Q3. Hence, it is believed that the third, N4 model is Samsung’s new mystery foldable phone. The name also fits the “fourth generation foldable” list.
Samsung’s first slide-out phablet
In terms of design, the alleged foldable phone is likely to be Samsung’s first slide-out phablet with a roll-up screen. Also, there is speculation that this could be the first fold-with-three-panel variant. Notably, the report suggests that Samsung is not planning to produce this smartphone in large quantities as compared to the other two upcoming foldable phones. Since, this is a completely new concept that we have already seen, therefore, it makes sense to produce it in limited quantities.
