The country’s largest public sector bank State Bank of India (SBI) has alerted its customers about QR code scan. SBI has cautioned people not to scan unknown QR codes and enter UPI PIN. In today’s time digital payments dominate. More and more people are moving towards online transactions, frauds related to the same are also increasing. However, one must be extremely cautious while doing any online transaction. QR code fraud is increasing rapidly to deceive people.
SBI has shared a short video that explains how by scanning the QR code, money will be debited from your bank account. What is QR Code?
The full form of QR Code is Quick Response Code. They are similar in appearance to the Square Barcode which was first developed in Japan. It looks like traditional UPC barcodes which are like horizontal lines. It can be captured very easily.
