Apple usually launches a new flagship iPhone series around the second week of September every year. That was the plan this year as well, until COVID hit China once again. And now there is a little twist in the story. Till now, the iPhone 14 series phones were expected to go official in September, but now a recent report suggests some delay in the launch.
The tech giant may launch four new iPhone models this year, which include iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The reports did not specify how much the launch would be delayed. There is no specific launch timeline available at the moment.
Reports suggest that the iPhone 14 launch may be delayed as manufacturing has been affected by restrictions due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in China, which is Apple’s biggest manufacturing and assembly hub. Rising COVID-19 cases in parts of China forced lockdowns or restrictions, affecting many of Apple’s suppliers and supply chains. Simultaneously, the ongoing semiconductor shortage has also affected the manufacturing of the iPhone 14.
Over the past few weeks, a rise in COVID-19 cases in China and other countries has forced many Apple supply factories to close or limit production. This may result in delays in the delivery of components for the iPhone 14 and in turn may impact shipments.
