Vimukt Jati Divas, CM Yogi, Uttar Pradesh, Marginalized Communities, Development Schemes | CM Yogi will address on ‘Vimukta Caste Day’, mention up the upliftment work done in the state.

Up news: The Yogi government’s resolve to saturate the unleashed and nomadic castes located at the lowest rungs of the society through government schemes is setting new paradigms by drawing a blueprint for the integrated development of Uttar Pradesh. Along with ensuring access to basic facilities to the disciplined and nomadic castes of the state, many efforts are being made to upgrade their economic and social upgradation. In this episode, CM Yogi will mention the work done for the upliftment of the disciplined and nomadic castes in the state in a program organized on the occasion of ‘Vimukt Caste Day’ on Sunday.

In the participation building of Lucknow by the Social Welfare Department, in the program organized at 10:30 am, CM Yogi as well as Narendra Kashyap, Minister of State (Independent Charge-Wind Welfare Department and Divyangajan Empowerment Department), Aseem Arun, Minister of State (Independent Charge-Society Welfare, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare) and Sanjeev Kumar Gond (Social Welfare Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare) in the state A comprehensive dialogue and discussion will be organized about the ongoing development -oriented schemes regarding castes.

It is noteworthy that CM Yogi’s vision is focused on bringing people of in -free and nomadic caste to “mainstream of development”. Under the policy and vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’, the social, educational and economic upliftment of the disciplined caste is being focused. Therefore ‘Vimukt Caste Day’ is celebrated

Many types of efforts are being made in the state for the welfare of the free -free and nomadic castes who have been deprived of basic facilities for decades. The main objective of celebrating ‘Vimukta Caste Day’ is to spread the public awareness to these communities to provide social justice, equality and dignity to these communities, attracting the attention of the society towards the rights of Vimukta, Ghumantu and semi-nomadic tribes (denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic-DNT).

According to the list of Vimukt, Ghumantu and semi -nomadic tribe Commission formed under the Ministry of Social Restoration and Empowerment, Uttar Pradesh has a number of disciplinary communities/ castes in 59 while the number of nomadic communities/ castes is 29. People of the disciplined caste are generally landless and agricultural laborers, who live in raw houses and huts. It has groups like Nat, Banjara, Bawri, Sansi, Kanjar and Kalvelia.

Government ensuring education, residence and livelihood

The education, residence and livelihood of the disciplined castes are being ensured by the state government. A total of 9 Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas are being run by the Social Welfare Department for education from class 6 to 12 from Rampur, Farrukhabad, Sarnath, Chandapur, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Gonda, Duddhi (Sonbhadra) and Hasanpur (Sultanpur). At the same time, 2 residential schools in Prayagraj and Balaganj are also run on grants.

The untouchable castes are also being benefited through 101 ashram system -run schools in the state. Food, school des, books etc. are being provided free of cost by the Yogi government in residential schools. A total of 03 hostels are operated in Pratapgarh and 03 in Lakhimpur Kheri through voluntary institutions.

At the same time, admission is also given to the students of Vimukta caste in 264 state scheduled caste hostels established by the department. For the livelihood, education and residence of the disciplined castes, allotment has been done on the residence of Kalyanpur in Kanpur, Sahabganj in Lakhimpur Kheri and Fazalpur in Moradabad and leases of arable land.
