Telecom companies are doing trials before launching 5G in India. In this sequence, Vodafone Idea has now conducted 5G trials in Pune. During the trial conducted on one device, the company got download speed of 5.92Gbps. This speed achieved in its first 5G trial has been achieved in the form of 4Gbps.
Peak download speed of 5.92Gbps was achieved with the help of a single test device. A 5G trial in Pune, Maharashtra was conducted on a stable combination of high-band (mmWave) and mid-band trial spectrum using Ericsson’s massive MIMO product. The test also used Ericsson’s standalone architecture and new radio-dual connectivity. With the help of this software, Vodafone Idea high-resolution video streaming will be downloaded in less time and better quality.
It is worth noting that Airtel is also trialling its 5G network in Gurugram and Mumbai. Here the telecom company has been able to achieve download speed of 1,000Mbps or 1Gbps. Additionally, Airtel has also achieved peak download speeds of around 3Gbps in Hyderabad.
On the other hand, telecom company Airtel has said that the download speed can be between 200 Mbps to 300 Mbps, which will be around 10 times the average speed of the existing 4G network in the country. However, after the launch of 5G, it will be better for the people only when all the necessities of the users are given by the telecom companies.
At the same time, if another report is to be believed, Reliance Jio has achieved a top download speed of 1.5Gbps while conducting its 5G trials in eight states of the country. It is worth noting that Vodafone Idea has achieved the highest download speed among the three companies in the country. However, the actual speed of the companies will be known only after the services are started for all the users.
