Oxygen is being provided to critical patients in these vehicles.
Jaipur, May 5 (IANS)| Five friends from the education city of Kota have converted three of their luxury cars into ’emergency hospitals’ and are providing oxygen to critical patients in these vehicles. The idea was conceptualized by Chandesh Guhija (44), who ran a car service center in Kota, when he saw people running around in search of oxygen and medicines. He along with his four friends Ashish Singh, Bharat Samnani, Ravi Kumar and Ashu Kumar converted three luxury cars into emergency hospitals for patients who could not get beds in the oxygen ward.
Chandresh said that at present, they are using three cars and will get more such cars to serve the patients if needed. While one car is with him, the second car belongs to his brother and the third car belongs to his uncle.
Two cars are working as ambulances and gas kits have been installed in all the cars. The AC of the car has to be switched on till the time oxygen is supplied to the patient, Chandresh said, adding that the daily cost for this service comes to around Rs 5000 7000 which includes the cost of the oxygen cylinder for which they all Collect money and take goods.
He said that one cylinder in the car can provide oxygen to three patients and we are able to arrange 3 oxygen cylinders after standing in queue for hours. Those in need continue to call on us, but it is difficult to help each.
From last 10,12 days, we are supplying oxygen cylinders to the families of patients free of cost. However, it is taking more time and fewer patients are arriving, so we converted cars into oxygen supply vehicles.
Their modus operandi is different, as they are visiting each and every house to ensure that no one dies of lack of oxygen. Oxygen is supplied to the service seekers by putting them in the car. Their vehicles are also helping in transporting such patients to hospitals. His ambulance is parked in the hospital until the patient is admitted or seen by the doctors. They have shared their phone numbers with the public to provide free service in these difficult times.
