Amidst all the criticism after the video went viral, online hotel room booking platform Oyo on Thursday removed the hotel from its platform for allegedly denying a room to a Jammu and Kashmir man.
In the information given on social media, he said that we are sorry that such an incident has happened. We are immediately removing the respective hotel from our platform. The company added, “Our rooms and our hearts are always open to everyone. We will definitely investigate the matter as to why the hotel has denied booking to the person.
At the same time, on Wednesday, Delhi Police also gave an explanation about this. The police say that it has not given any such direction to deny hotel rooms to those having identity cards of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a series of tweets, Delhi Police said that a purported video is viral on social media, in which a person is denied a hotel room for being from Jammu and Kashmir. “No such instructions have been given by the police.”
