What will be the next step of Shivpal Singh Yadav? This is the biggest question in Uttar Pradesh these days. Amid speculation that Pragatisheel Samajwad Party (PSP) chief Shivpal Yadav will join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has raised suspense by saying that there is no vacancy yet. However, sources say that the final decision of Shivpal to go with the BJP may not have been taken, but his separation from the Samajwadi Party (SP) is certain.
It is being told that Shivpal Yadav, in a meeting with PSP leaders on Thursday, asked them to get ready for a big fight. According to sources, Shivpal has decided not to stay in the SP alliance. Shivpal, who had entered into an alliance with the SP at the behest of elder brother Mulayam Singh, is feeling humiliated after earlier getting only one seat in the alliance and now refusing to be given a bigger role in the SP organisation. PSP leaders and workers are already dissatisfied with the alliance.
Shivpal Yadav will announce his next move in next 2-3 days. Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav is not even trying to persuade him. Sources say that Mulayam Singh Yadav has also given Shivpal the freedom to take any decision in his own interest. Those close to the Mulayam family say that Netaji is also sorry that Shivpal, who worked hard with him, is neglected. On Mulayam’s behest, Shivpal had accepted Akhilesh’s support, but once again he was disappointed.
What did Keshav Prasad Maurya say?
Amidst speculations that Shivpal Yadav will join BJP, UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has added to the suspense by saying that there is no such vacancy in BJP at present. Describing Shivpal’s meeting with CM Yogi as normal, he has said that any leader of the opposition can meet him. It is believed that BJP may have played this gamble to soften Shivpal’s conditions. The party will make any agreement with Shivpal keeping in mind its profit and loss.
