Importance of cow explained by giving examples from Rigveda to Jesus Christ
The Allahabad High Court, in a judgment on Wednesday, said that scientists believe that the cow is the only animal that takes in oxygen during respiration and at the same time releases it outside. Apart from this, cow gives milk from which curd ghee is made. Which is very healthy and beneficial. Along with this, Panchagavya made from its urine and cow dung is beneficial in many incurable diseases. Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav made the observation while dismissing the bail plea of petitioner Javed. Javed along with his accomplices is accused of stealing and killing the cow of plaintiff Khilendra Singh.
The court said in its decision, ‘According to Hinduism, the cow is the home of 33 crore gods and goddesses. In Rigveda cow is called Aghanya, in Yajurveda Gaur is said to be incomparable and in Atharvaveda as the house of wealth. Lord Shri Krishna got all the knowledge from cow’s feet. Jesus Christ said that killing a cow or a bull is like killing a human being. The boy Gangadhar Tilak said, “Even if you kill me, don’t touch the cow.” Pandit Madan Mohan Malvi advocated a complete ban on cow slaughter. Lord Buddha considers cows to be the friend of man. Whereas in Jains cow is considered as heaven.
The court observed, “While drafting the Indian Constitution, several members of the Constituent Assembly had spoken of including cow protection as a fundamental right. Hindus have been worshiping the cow for centuries. This was also stated by non-Hindus as well. And this is the reason why non-Hindu leaders strongly opposed Gaudhana during the Mughal period, respecting Hindu sentiments.
Let us tell you that the court further said in its decision, “This means that the majority Muslim leadership of the country has always been in favor of a nationwide ban on cow slaughter.” Khwaja Hasan Nizami led a movement and wrote a book called ‘Tark e Gao Kushi’ in which he wrote about not killing cows. Emperor Akbar, Humayun and Babur requested not to slaughter cows in their sultanate. According to the court, Maulana Mahmood Madani of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Hind has demanded a central law to ban cow slaughter in India. In view of all these circumstances there is a need to declare cow as the national animal and cow protection needs to be included in the fundamental rights of Hindus.
Let us tell you that the court said in its order that the welfare of the country will happen only when the welfare of the cows is ensured and it is often difficult to see that only those who talk about conservation and breeding of cows eat cows.
