Recently, the United Nations General Assembly voted to condemn Russia for invading Ukraine and withdraw Russian troops from Ukraine. In this, 141 countries voted in favor of the proposal, while 5 countries were against it. 35 countries abstained from voting.

In these 35 countries, one of India’s neighboring country Bangladesh was also included. Due to this decision of Bangladesh, Lithuania reversed its decision to send more than 4.4 lakh doses of corona virus vaccine to Bangladesh. Lithuania canceled the decision to send Mane Bangladesh vaccine. A report by Lithuanian National Radio and Television has given this information. Lithuanian PM Ingrida Simoneti’s spokesperson has also confirmed this to LRT.
Bangladesh had appealed to resolve the matter through talks.
Bangladesh has voiced its support for the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of Ukraine by the United Nations General Assembly. According to Bangladeshi newspaper The Daily Star, during the General Assembly debate, the Bangladeshi representative said that we always support peace and we wish to resolve the Ukraine No./Cut through diplomatic negotiations.
