Fearless criminals on Monday raided PN Jewelers located in Kashi Bazar of Chhapra in broad daylight and looted jewelery worth more than one crore by taking the staff at pistol point. The looted jewelery includes jewelery made of gold as well as diamonds. During the robbery, the criminals opened fire in the shop and spread panic. This incident of robbery in broad daylight created a sensation in the city.
Shopkeeper Nagendra Prasad said that as soon as the criminals came, the first security personnel posted at the shop snatched the licensed gun of the retired army personnel. To spread panic, the guard’s gun was fired. While going back after the robbery, the robbers also broke the guard’s gun. It is said that six in number of criminals had entered the jewelers wearing masks on their faces, turbans on their foreheads and wearing black glasses. By the time someone could understand something, the robbers took possession of the shop staff and other people present by showing pistols. During this, two miscreants were keeping an eye on everyone with guns in their hands and four of his accomplices were breaking the glass from the rack and counter and packing the jewelery and filling it in the black bag. Surprisingly, when the miscreants were looting, at that time people kept coming from outside the shop on the road indiscriminately in vehicles. But no one dared to go out and make noise.
