The situation is now returning to normal in most of the countries affected by the corona virus infection. At the same time, COVID-19 cases are increasing once again in China, due to which the administration is facing a lot of problems in controlling it. The situation is getting worse every passing day. There are two important reasons for this crisis created in the dragon. Firstly, the failure of Beijing’s ‘Zero COVID’ policy and secondly, Chinese vaccines against the corona virus are not proving effective.
The Chinese vaccines SinoVac and SinoPharm are among the first vaccines developed to produce antibodies against the coronavirus. China exported these vaccines to different countries and also donated to some poor countries. Over time there were complaints of these vaccines being ineffective, but China dismissed these reports.
Chinese Vaccine SinoVac Failed Against Omicron!
Many countries have issued an additional dose against the corona, also known as a booster shot. It was imposed on those who had already been vaccinated. When the Omicron variant was spreading rapidly in late December, China’s SinoVac was largely unsuccessful in combating it.
According to the study conducted by the University of Hong Kong, SinoVac failed to develop antibodies against Omicron. Furthermore, it failed to provide an adequate level of protection in people who had already received two doses. This is certainly not good news for Chinese health officials, as more than 2.6 million doses have been administered to its 1.6 billion population by 2021.
3% of elderly people die after taking SinoVac
According to a government report, 3 percent of people over the age of 80 died after taking two doses of the Chinese vaccine SinoVac. The mortality rate among those taking a single dose is 6 percent. In addition, a document from the Chinese National Health Commission showed that the Chinese vaccine led to an increase in the incidence of leukemia.
The failure of vaccines has left Chinese authorities with no option but to forcibly lockdown to break the chain of infection. Big cities have been shut down, people ‘imprisoned’ in their homes, markets are closed and the industry’s supply chain is broken. This has affected the daily routine of the people. At the same time the sources of income for jobs have been exhausted. With the number of fresh cases increasing, China is going on lockdown in various major cities.
