China has claimed for the first time that the PLA has vacated the hot spring area on the LAC. However, people familiar with this matter say that China is lying and all areas of Eastern Ladakh have not been evacuated yet. The Foreign Minister of China told Hindustan Times that India is working together and a solution will be found soon regarding eastern Ladakh.
China claimed that there has been disengagement in Galvan Valley, Pangong Lake and Hot Spring. Let us tell you that for two years, India and China have held talks many times but till now no solution has been found. India is only aware of the disengagement on the southern bank of Pangong and the Gogra area.
Earlier, on March 11, the 15th peak commander-level talks were held between India and China. In a statement issued after this talks, it was said, ‘Both countries have reached a solution that the Galvan Valley, Pangong Lake and Hot Spring will be evacuated. The situation on the ground is calm and under control. This statement was issued by China. On behalf of the Ministry of External Affairs, it was said that both the countries have reached an acceptable solution and further talks will be continued.
China’s statement did not mention which areas have not yet been disengaged and why it is taking so long. The last disengagement took place on August 4 and 5 at Gogra Patrolling Point 17A. This area was vacated after the 12th phase of talks. The armies on both sides had retreated at Gogra.
