According to the information, there may be a meeting of the GST Council by the end of this month or in the first week of next month. The finance ministers of the election states will also attend this meeting. In this meeting, a committee of state finance ministers can suggest steps like increasing and rationalizing the lowest GST slab to the GST Council. Among these suggestions, the lowest tax rate is likely to be increased by five per cent.
