Indian Railways has decided to convert regular Mail/Express trains into special trains keeping in view of COVID-19. These trains will run with regular numbers while the fare will be normal. Apart from this, now trains are also going to run at full capacity again. IRCTC’s catering service is also going to start again. In such a situation, people who travel by train with the whole family or group, they will not have any problem.
Let us tell you that if you are planning to travel with the whole family or are planning to book more than six train tickets in a month then there is a special facility for you. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation can book only 6 tickets in a month to rail passengers with a single user ID but 12 tickets can be booked in a month if IRCTC account is linked with Aadhar card. For this, the user will first have to verify his IRCTC user ID and at least one passenger through Aadhaar.
For this you have to do
First of all login by going to http://www.irctc.co.in.
Now go to MY ACCOUNT option and select Link Your Aadhar option.
Now Support KYC page will appear. Enter your Name as per Aadhar Card, Enter Aadhar Number or Virtual ID, Select Checkbox and Click on Send OTP Button.
Now enter the OTP received on the mobile number registered with Aadhaar and click on ‘Verify OTP’ button.
Now click on Update button to complete the support verification process.
– A pop-up window will appear with the confirmation message. Then close the window and login to http://www.irctc.co.in again.
Aadhaar KYC status can be checked by selecting the ‘Link Your Aadhaar’ link under the ‘My Account’ tab on the top navigation of the IRCTC e-ticketing website.
Apart from this, to verify the Aadhaar of a passenger, do this-
First of all go to www.irctc.co.in
After logging in, go to the ‘Add/Modify Master List’ link in ‘My Profile’ under the ‘My Account’ tab on the home page.
Provide details like name, date of birth, gender, date of birth, choice of food, senior citizen concession (if applicable), type of ID card and ID card number (Aadhaar number) on the ‘Advertisement / Revised Master List’ page.
Now click on submit button.
– The passenger will be added to the master list with the details provided and can be viewed in the ‘Saved Passenger List’.
– Click on ‘Click here to check pending support verification status’ to verify passenger support verification details.
– If the details are corrected, the verification status will change to ‘Verified’ and the screen will also get a success alert.
Let us tell you that at the time of booking make sure to select Aadhar Verified Traveling Passenger from the ‘Saved Passenger List’. After logging on to the IRCTC website for booking, enter the travel details and proceed with the booking process. On the train list page select the train and category you want to travel from and proceed with the booking process. Then on Passenger Input page click on ‘Passenger Name’ and select Aadhaar Verified Passenger from the list. This list will show all the passengers added to the master list. Passenger details will automatically pop up on the reservation form. The details of all passengers except the Aadhaar verified passenger have to be entered. After that the booking process will proceed. After reviewing the booking details and checking the Aadhaar number that appears under ‘Travelling Passengers’, you need to select the payment gateway on the payment page. Booking will be confirmed on successful payment.
