India has hit out at the organization for inviting Hurriyat Conference to participate in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting to be held in Islamabad next week. India said it takes such activities very seriously. India said that we hope not to encourage those who indulge in anti-India activities and terrorism.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, “We expect the OIC not to encourage those who indulge in anti-India activities and terrorism.” On the invitation of Hurriyat Conference to the OIC meeting, the Ministry of External Affairs said that we take very seriously such activities which attempt to destroy the unity of the country and violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“It is extremely unfortunate that the OIC is working according to the political agenda of one of its members instead of concentrating on important developmental activities,” Bagchi said. In a veiled reference to Pakistan, he said that it is extremely unfortunate that the OIC is guided by the political agenda of one member instead of concentrating on important development activities.
“We have repeatedly asked the OIC to refrain from providing its platform to vested interests to interfere in India’s internal affairs,” he said. Bagchi was asked about reports that the All Party Hurriyat Conference was invited by the OIC to attend its meeting in Islamabad on March 25 and 23.
