Islamic State has launched an attack in Hadera, Israel, in which two policemen were killed. After a long time there has been such a terrorist attack on Israel, in which its security personnel have died. This attack has happened at a time when the foreign ministers of Arab countries are on a visit to Israel. In fact, two Islamic State gunmen opened fire on Herbert Samuel Street in Hadera, killing two policemen and wounding four. Regarding this attack on Sunday, it was being said that unidentified gunmen of Arab origin carried out this attack, but now the Islamic State has claimed responsibility.
Israeli PM Naftali Bennett has condemned the attack and expressed grief over the death of the policemen. He said that my heart is broken by this attack and my condolences to the families of the deceased. The attack took place at a time when US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was also in Israel. He met with Bennett after the attack and condemned it. During this, foreign ministers of 4 Arab countries were also in Israel. These included the foreign ministers of Morocco, Egypt, UAE and Bahrain.
Blinken tweeted: “We condemn the terrorist attack in Hadera, Israel. There is no place for such violence in the society. Israel’s security has been considered impenetrable and such terrorist attacks do not usually take place there. Earlier in 2017, there was a terrorist attack in Israel, in which no one was killed. The policemen killed in Sunday’s attack have been identified as Yejen Fallah and Shirel Abukart. The age of both is said to be only 21 years. The attacking terrorists were also residents of Israel.
