After 21 years, Mirabai has won a medal in women’s weightlifting
People from all over the world started congratulating her after Mirabai Chanu won the silver medal in the 49 kg weightlifting category at the ongoing Olympics in Japan. Mirabai, who created history by winning the silver medal, was welcomed with much fanfare even on her return home and prizes were showered on her. Meanwhile, a video has gone viral on social media, seeing which no one will be able to stop their laughter and happiness.
A user named Satish Shivalingam had posted a video tagging Mirabai, seeing which Mirabai also gave an interesting reaction. In the video, a little girl copied Mirabai and recreated her silver medal winning moment. The scenes of the match were also going on behind the girl, in which Mirabai won the silver medal. In the end, the girl is seen bowing to everyone by shaking both hands just like Mirabai.

It is noteworthy that the silver medal won by Mirabai is the medal won by an Indian female weightlifter after 21 years in weightlifting. Earlier, Karnam Malleswari had won a bronze medal in the year 2000. After the return of Mirabai, she has been announced by the Chief Minister of Manipur to be the Additional Superintendent of Police in the State Police Department. Apart from this, a reward of one crore rupees will also be given to him by the state government.
