After securing a thumping majority in Punjab, Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party is eyeing Rajasthan. Ahead of the assembly elections to be held next year, AAP has started setting up electoral circles in Rajasthan. For this, the party is engaged in contacting the leaders who dominate the different regional areas of Rajasthan.
Sources associated with AAP’s Rajasthan unit said that some national leaders of the party have been given the responsibility to contact the big leaders of Rajasthan. On the condition of anonymity, he said, “such leaders of Rajasthan are being approached who have a good image among the people at the grassroots level.” AAP is trying to connect those leaders with you. He said that the party is also planning to organize programs in their own areas to include these leaders from different areas.
Hanuman can go to Beniwal with you
Party leaders said that the party will also organize ‘Vijay Utsav’ conference on March 26-27 to prepare the ground in Rajasthan. According to sources, many leaders may also join AAP during this program. He told that Hanuman Beniwal, the founder of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party, which has a strong hold in the Jat belt of Rajasthan, can also go with you.
In 2018 also AAP had contested elections.
Significantly, in the 2018 assembly elections, AAP had fielded candidates on 142 out of 200 seats in Rajasthan. However, the party did not win even a single seat. The party got only 0.4 percent votes in Rajasthan.
