Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya suddenly went to the hospital to find out the actual condition of the hospital
Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said he was thrashed by security guards when he went on a surprise visit to Safdarjung Hospital. Mansukh Mandaviya, who has been serving as the health minister since the reshuffle in the Modi government, recently revealed that he was hit with a stick by a security guard at the gate when he went to Safdarjung Hospital like a normal patient. He said that he had suddenly gone to the hospital to find out the real condition of the hospital.
Let us tell you that this was disclosed during the inauguration of four health facilities at Safdarjung Hospital on Thursday. Mandaviya said that during his surprise visit as a normal patient, when he was about to sit on a bench, the security guards hit him with a stick and did not allow him to sit there. He also said that he noticed that many patients were facing problems in getting stretchers and other medical aids in the hospital. He cited the example of a 75-year-old woman who was asking a guard to bring a stretcher for her son, but she did not get it either.
He further stated that he was not happy with the guard’s behaviour. He inquired about that 1500 guards have been deployed in the hospital. But why didn’t any of the guards help the old lady. Reminding the paramedics and other staff about their role, Mandaviya said that the hospital and medical staff are two sides of the same coin and they should work as a team.
Mandaviya said that he has informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the incident. Hearing this, the Prime Minister also got upset and asked whether the guard has been suspended or not? To which Mandaviya said, he has not been suspended because he is not just a person but he is trying to improve the system.
Significantly, Mandaviya inaugurated four facilities at Safdarjung Hospital, including a new oxygen plant. It also includes a makeshift hospital built to treat coronavirus patients. A 44-bed hospital has been built to deal with the third wave of Corona.
