Independent MP Navneet Rana, who announced to read Hanuman Chalisa outside Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray’s house, has once again shown aggressive attitude. Navneet Rana, who went to jail along with husband Ravi Rana, got bail on this matter only recently. After this she was admitted to Lilavati Hospital for treatment. On leaving the hospital, Navneet Rana said that this is a religious fight and I will continue it. The Amravati MP was admitted to the jail after coming out of Byculla Jail. He had complained of high blood pressure, chest pain and body ache.
Earlier, his lawyer had claimed that his medical examination was not allowed and if his health deteriorated then the government would be responsible for it. Navneet Rana and her husband Ravi Rana were arrested by the police on 23 April and then sent to jail the very next day. It was announced by the Rana couple that they would recite Hanuman Chalisa outside the house of ‘Matoshree’, the private residence of Uddhav Thackeray. Shiv Sena supporters were enraged by his announcement and staged a strong demonstration outside his house.
Not only this, the controversy over this intensified, when a case was registered against the Rana couple and they were sent to jail. However, the Bombay High Court had also termed the registration of a sedition case against the Rana couple as wrong. The High Court had said that even though the statement of the Rana couple was provocative, a case of sedition cannot be registered for it. Navneet Rana and her husband had also canceled the plan to recite Hanuman Chalisa because PM pic.twitter.com/MTUrPcR1VY
