On Sunday night, anti-social elements vandalized the Shiva temple located in Bahalolpur village of Noida and also destroyed the Shivling and the idols kept in the temple. Along with this there were also traces of blood on the floor of the temple. When the villagers reached the temple on Monday morning, they got furious after seeing the inside sight. After this, a large number of villagers gathered on the spot and created a ruckus. On Monday afternoon, after rumors of meat being thrown inside the temple, the police ransacked meat shops located in Bahalolpur by running a bulldozer.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) Harish Chander said that the local police had received information about vandalism inside a Shiva temple in Bahalolpur village. A police team along with forensic experts and dog squad immediately reached the spot, where an idol was found in a damaged condition, he said.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone II) Ila Maran said that blood stains have also been found at the spot, which prima facie looks like human blood. Obviously, the person who broke the glass to remove the idol kept in the glass cover must have got hurt and his blood spilled.

DCP Chander said that the police is probing the matter from all angles and refuted the rumor that a piece of meat was also lying inside the temple premises. He said the police have also contacted the priest of the temple, who had gone to his house in the night and witnessed the demolition when he came to the temple in the morning.
The DCP said that the rumor of the priest of the temple being held hostage at the time of the incident is also false. He said that the law and order situation in the village was under control and further investigation was being done by registering an FIR in the matter.
