On Monday, in ITI College, some students objected to the alumnus coming in a burqa and started protesting by wearing saffron organ clothes. When the teachers appealed to take off the saffron corsets, the students called outside elements to the campus and started shouting slogans. Hours later, after the intervention of the principal, the matter could be settled.
Some students were doing practicals on course related machines. He had put a saffron-coloured gamchha around his neck. The teacher asked him to take off the gamcha, the students refused. The students said that when girls can come to the college wearing burqa and hijab, then why can’t they come wearing a gamchha. The teachers argued that wearing a gamchha and working on the machine could lead to an accident. When other teachers also asked the students to take off the gamcha, the student started creating a ruckus.
He said that a girl student has come to the college wearing a burqa. Against which he has worn this saffron. When the pressure of the college administration increased on the students, they called outside students to the campus and started shouting religious slogans in the campus. The students agreed upon intervention and persuasion by the principal of the college, Nawab Singh. On Monday, the alumnus had come to ITI College regarding the certificate. Seeing this, the students working on the machine got furious.
A former student had come to the college for work related to certificate, seeing that some students started creating ruckus by putting on saffron clothes. Some outsiders were also involved in this. The matter has been pacified after explaining everyone. Also, a notice has been issued to come in dress.
