Popular photo sharing app Instagram is testing a new feature that will make reels more fun. According to the report, the company is working on the Templates feature like Tiktok. Through this, Instagram creators will be able to create reels in the already existing format. The Templates Tool feature is currently being rolled out to some beta testers only.
What’s New Templates Feature
The new feature will be similar to the ‘Templates’ feature in TikTok, which will allow users to add their own photos or videos in preset formats. This format was first spotted by marketing manager and social media influencer Josephine Hill. He got early access to the feature and shared some of his impressions in March.

Speaking to Business Insider, Josephine said, “One thing I was looking for, especially with Instagram reels, was something that resembled the audio sync of TikTok, where the clips would be perfectly in tune with the music. Huh.”

A Meta spokesperson also confirmed this, saying, “We are testing the facility for you to create a new reel using an existing template from another reel.” Instagram Reels was introduced in 2020 after TikTok videos became popular on the internet.
