Surprise leave of at least 10 days every year to sensitive bankers

According to the Reserve Bank of India’s 2015 circular, bankersway working in sections like Treasury Operations, Currency Chest, Risk Modelling, Model Validation are considered sensitive functionaries. Along with this rule, a list will also be issued for sensitive posts, who will be given 10 days casual leave every year under ‘Mandatory Leave’. According to this rule, bankers will be granted leave without prior notice.
Let us tell you that in the information sent to banks including Rural Development Bank and Co-operative Bank, RBI has asked to formulate a policy of giving holiday as a prudential risk management measure. For this, banks and their board of directors have been asked to prepare a list of sensitive posts as per a policy. The Board of Directors of banks will also have to review it from time to time. The Reserve Bank has given 6 months to the banks to make this list. Earlier in 2015, the Reserve Bank had issued guidelines regarding this matter. But the number of days was not clarified at that time.
According to RBI, during this holiday one will have to work on corporate and internal email but will not have to do any physical work. Such employees will not be connected to any kind of online work even on holidays.
