Russia’s attack on Ukraine continues. Even 15 days after the start of the war, Russia is still firing missiles at Ukrainian cities. The regional military administration’s public affairs officer Valentin Yarmolenko said that there were no military facilities in the area, that the attack killed one person, a security guard.
The District Prosecutor has opened an investigation into the attack over a possible violation of the law of war. Residents living near the shoe factory said they heard the first explosion at 6:00 am (0400 GMT) and the second at 6:10 am. This was followed by a third explosion.
Svetlana Kalenchenko, who works next to the shoe factory, said, “We heard a loud explosion and the windows were broken and pieces of roof started falling. When the second blast happened, we ran to take shelter in the metro, but the entrance was also damaged.
Mayor Boris Filativ said in a video statement that the situation was under control and there were no Russian troops in the city. Dnipro was considered a safe haven since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on 24 February.
