2,973 people were deported from Mariupol to Russia
Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine said 2,973 people had been deported from Mariupol to Russia since March 5, including 541 Ukrainians who were taken in the past 24 hours. A statement issued by Mariupol City Council claimed that the mobile phones and documents of Ukrainians were checked by Russian security personnel before being sent to remote areas of Russia.
Russian army bombing school in Mariupol
Ukrainian authorities said on Sunday that Russian forces had bombed a school in the port city of Mariupol, in which at least 400 people were taking shelter.
