The BJP has won a record five seats in Saharanpur. But Nakud’s victory is special for the BJP in many ways. Because Nakud has been the invincible fort of Dr. Dharam Singh Sena for the last 20 years. The main reason behind this is defection and anti-incumbency factor is believed to be the main reason.
After the year 2002, his victory chariot continued in 2007 as well. He won for the second time in a row on a BSP ticket. The BSP high command had given him a big honor by making him the Minister of Basic Education. The delimitation of the district’s seats took place in the year 2012. Sarsawa seat was renamed as Nakud and Nakud was renamed as Gangoh Vidhan Sabha. This time too, Dr. Dharam Singh Saini entered the electoral fray on a BSP ticket. He won by defeating Congress strongman Imran Masdu, but by the time of 2017, Dr. Dharam Singh Saini was disillusioned with BSP and joined BJP. There was a wave of BJP in the state, riding on which Dharam Singh Saini was successful in winning the elections in 2017. This time he defeated Imran Masood of Congress.
Will work in public for five years: Dharam Singh
SP candidate from Nakud Assembly Dr. Dharam Singh Saini said that the decision of the people is acceptable. He said that even without being an MLA, I will work for the next five years by living among the people. Said that the supporters gave him more than one lakh votes, yet he was defeated. It is not the fault of the voters. Winning an election doesn’t matter. What matters is the margin of victory or defeat. We have lost by only 155 votes.
halted victory chariot
After winning the elections again and again, Dr. Dharam Singh Saini came under the scanner of the Anti-Incumbency Factor. Some voters were angry with him. Discussions about his ticket being cut or changed had started, due to which Dharam Singh Saini again changed his side before the election and joined the SP camp. Not only this, his rival Imran Masood also reached SP with him. Still, Dr. Dharam Singh Saini did not succeed in saving his invincible fort.
