Traveling by rail is an integral part of the everyday life of every Mumbaikar. Perhaps this is why the Suburban Railway is also called the lifeline of Mumbai. In the midst of the movement of trains, incidents of loss of life by falling under a train in Mumbai also happen regularly. Despite the efforts of the administration, people do not stop walking on the train tracks and become victims of accidents.
A similar case happened near Kalyan railway station in Thane district near Mumbai. The Mumbai-Varanasi train was passing through the track when the driver of the train saw an elderly man crossing the track on the track. The driver applied the emergency brake. The train came to a halt due to emergency braking but it took some time and the elderly passing through the track came under the train and got stuck under the front part of its engine.
But they say, ‘Jako rakhe saiyan maar sakte na koi!’ The same thing happened with these elders. They were stuck in the front part of the train. The driver of the train got down and came on the track and people from nearby also got down on the track and found that the elderly are safe. He was pulled out from under the engine. He had not suffered any injury. Watch this video:
