The bungalow allotted to Lok Sabha MP Chirag Paswan to his late father Ram Vilas Paswan has been vacated. Earlier, a government team was sent here to implement the eviction order issued to him last year. Official sources said that immediately after the team of Directorate of Estates under the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry reached there, the process of moving furniture and household items from the Janpath bungalow in Lutyens’ Delhi began.
Two trucks carrying goods came out of the 12 Janpath bungalow, the official address of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), while three more were standing in front of the bungalow. Officials said that the bungalow has been earmarked for the Union ministers and the occupants of the government residence have been asked to vacate it.
The bungalow was being used for party meetings
This bungalow was regularly used for organizing party organizational meetings and other related events. Ram Vilas Paswan, one of the prominent Dalit leaders of the country, died in October 2020 at the age of 74. He has been a minister in several central governments since 1989.
LJP split into two factions after Ramvilas’s death
After the death of former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, the LJP split due to differences between Chirag Paswan and his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras. Both are adamant for the leadership of LJP. Chirag Paswan alone is now a part of LJP. Apart from this, after the death of his father, he also suffered a setback in the Bihar assembly elections. In this election, he fought separately from the BJP and could not win a single seat.
