Strong opposition to this decision among the people, demonstration on the streets
Crime is a crime and cannot be justified, but even in such a case, raping a minor is a heinous crime. In such a situation, the person who has raped a minor cannot be forgiven in any way. In such a situation, in the case of rape in Switzerland, a judge gave such an argument and said that the punishment of the accused should be reduced, after which people demonstrated against it on the streets. In fact, in a Swiss rape case, a judge reduced the sentence of a rape accused, arguing that the ‘rape lasted only 11 minutes’.
Let us tell you that in a case held last year, the court reduced the sentence of the rapist saying that he raped the woman for only 11 minutes. People are protesting on the streets of Switzerland against this decision of the judge, in which the number of women protesters is the highest.
If we talk about the matter, then this matter is of 20 June 2020. A 33-year-old woman living in Basel has accused two Portuguese of attacking and raping her hostage outside her home. One of the accused is 17 years old and the other is said to be 32 years old. While delivering the verdict on this case, the woman judge said that the rape took place only for 11 minutes. At present, the court has not sentenced the minor. But the sentence of the second convict has been reduced from 51 months to 36 months. Not only this, the woman judge also said something objectionable about the victim. The judge said that the victim must have provoked the accused. The judge said all this, calling it a very minor mistake. Most of the people protesting on the streets against the female judge were women. He observed 11 minutes of silence during this. The women were protesting with banners that read ’11 minutes very much hotter’. Now people are protesting against this decision.
