Everyone knows that drinking alcohol is injurious to health. But a recently released report has revealed that women are also ahead of men in terms of drinking alcohol. It has been told in the National Family Health Survey-5 that women of Chhattisgarh are at number three in the country in terms of drinking alcohol. Yes, the women of this state have left behind the women of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh in the matter of drinking alcohol.
According to this survey, 17.3% women in Chhattisgarh consume tobacco. Apart from this, about 5 percent of the women here are alcoholics. In Uttar Pradesh, 8.4 percent of women use tobacco and about 0.3 percent of women drink alcohol. On the other hand, only 1% of women in Madhya Pradesh i.e. MP are addicted to alcohol.
Let us also tell you that in Arunachal Pradesh, 18.8 percent of women consume tobacco and 52.7 percent of women drink alcohol. In Jharkhand, 6.1% of women drink alcohol. It has been told in this report that 5 out of 100 women in Chhattisgarh drink alcohol, while 17 use tobacco.
Some media reports have quoted this survey as saying that 17.9 percent of men in Chhattisgarh have given up drinking. 12.1 percent of the men even gave up tobacco. In the report of National Family Health Survey-5, it has been said that 34.8 percent men in the state are consuming alcohol, while 43 percent are chewing tobacco.
