Ashwini Vaishnav on Wednesday clarified that there is no question of privatization of railways and everything said about it is “fictitious”. He said that in the eyes of the Government, Railways as a ‘strategic sector’ have social responsibility which is being fulfilled with a focus on commercial viability.
The Railway Minister also said that the “misunderstanding” with the students regarding recruitment has been resolved sympathetically by the Railways. He said, “There is no restriction on recruitment…. The recruitment process is going on for 1.14 lakh vacancies.”
Responding to ‘Discussion on Demands for Grants under the control of Ministry of Railways for the year 2022-23’, the Railway Minister said, “There is no question of privatization of Railways. The things that have been said about this are fictitious.
