This stone was so special that it was used for the coronation of all Irish kings until 500 AD.

The goddess Danu was a river goddess in European tradition. Many rivers are also connected to it. Some Irish texts refer to the father of the goddess Danu as the best deity. The mention of Danu Devi is also found in the Vedic tradition. Danu Devi was the daughter of Daksha and the wife of Kashyapa Muni, the goddess of rivers. The word Danu in Sanskrit means flowing water. Daksha was the daughter of Sati and Danu. Mata Sati, the second daughter of Daksha was married to Lord Shiva. According to the followers of Vedic tradition, the name Liya Fel is very similar to the Shiva Linga.
