Sylvia shares her story for a Channel 4 documentary
The story of Sylvia, who was brought from Brazil to Britain, is no less than a film. Sylvia went to Britain a few years ago with big dreams. But her dreams were shattered when she was pushed into the business of prostitution. His life was a place where he had to work 16 to 17 hours a day and was beaten up for refusing to work. After living a hellish life for about seven years, he got a chance to get out of this hell and Sylvia went straight to Brazil.
According to the Daily Mail, Sylvia gave information for a channel documentary ‘Hunting the sex traffickers’. Sylvia said it was sold in many brothels in Britain. Where he was made to work for 16 to 17 hours a day, seven days a week and he used to get only $ 20 i.e. about two thousand rupees. At just $ 20, the physical hunger of 10 to 12 customers would have to be satisfied in a day. He told that the customer who bought his body by paying money, would have to do everything at the behest of that customer. One would have to be completely satisfied in spite of the physical pain faced by the customers.
Sylvia’s body was being scratched by 10 to 12 customers every day and she had no choice but to keep quiet. The customer had no choice but to tolerate what he did. Someone would injure the secret parts of these women, yet they cannot do anything except keep silent. He just had to endure smiling silently. Sylvia further said that robbery with sex workers is also common in London. A group of youths were being robbed at knife point and the women did not dare to file a police complaint. Not only this, rape with sex workers is also common there. Recalling the atrocities on her, Sylvia said that there was an epidemic of HIV in Britain. The positive person raped her.
Recalling an incident, Sylvia said, “One day I was in Oxford. Then a young man came and took me with him. There he had sex with me by throwing a condom against my will. Later he messaged me and told that I am infected with HIV.”
