Trinamool Congress (TMC) Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra on Wednesday posted a photograph of the Bhabha Atomic Research Center and took a dig at the ongoing controversy over the Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi. TMC leaders came under target after this tweet. Along with Twitter, memes are also being forwarded on WhatsApp. However, Mahua Moitra is not the first woman from her party to be involved in the ongoing debate over the structure of the Bhabha Atomic Research Center.
Earlier, Trinamool’s Rajya Sabha MP Jawahar Sarkar earlier tweeted, “Bhabha Atomic Research Center will soon be declared a huge Shivling by devotees!”
Mahua Moitra is quite active on Twitter and is a vocal critic of BJP. On Wednesday, he made a tweet mocking India’s economy, indicating that India’s economy is in a deteriorating state, the government is only digging.
However, the comparison between the Bhabha Atomic Research Center and a Shivling made the Trinamool MP the target of social media users. He accused them of hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus. Several social media users pointed out that not only BARC but all nuclear plants look like Shivling, as the shape can hold enormous energy.
A Supreme Court bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and PS Narasimha will hear a petition challenging the survey of the Gyanvapi mosque ordered by a Varanasi court. On Tuesday, the matter came up for hearing in the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court asked the local administration to seal the place where ‘Shivling’ was said to be found in the survey. At the same time, it has been said that Muslims should not be stopped from offering Namaz in the mosque.
