In a video viral on social media, a cafe named Echoes in South Delhi can be seen being run by people with disabilities. The entire staff of this cafe consists of deaf, dumb and mute staff who take orders and express themselves through sign language only. This unique cafe is located in Satya Niketan, South Delhi and employs persons with physical disabilities.
When a customer enters the cafe, a staff member follows him to the table in sign language. For all customers, notepads are provided and different codes are placed for each dish on the menu. To order food, customers can write the code of the dish of their choice on the notepad. Various types of placards are also placed on the table for the customers from which customers can call the waiter again and again. There are placards like Water Please, Bill, Thank You. It is being told that four years ago this cafe was started by a group of friends in Satyaniketan, Delhi. Presently, around 40 specially-abled employees work in this cafe. The personnel of the cafe include persons with disabilities, so notice boards have been installed at the main gate, which have all the letters engraved on it. Each alphabet has its own symbol that they use to speak. Customers and tourists also praised him for this unique step.
