Chinese ambassador meets Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari
Islamabad: Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zidong met Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday amid tension between Islamabad and Delhi over the Pahalgam terror attack. The Chinese ambassador said that China would always support Pakistan to ensure peace and stability in South Asia. According to the report of the official ‘Radio Pakistan’, Zidong met President Zardari and discussed various issues including tension between Pakistan and India.
Concern over India’s attitude
During the meeting, President Zardari expressed concern over the recently taken steps by India after the Pahalgam terror attack and said that such action is a threat to regional peace and stability. After the terrorist attack on 22 April in Pahalgam, relations between India and Pakistan have deteriorated. 26 people were killed in this attack, mostly tourists.
Strong relationship between China and Pakistan
According to ‘Radio Pakistan’ report, the Chinese ambassador described the relationship between China and Pakistan as strong, who has always supported each other in challenging times. Jiang Zidong thanked President Zardari for sharing Pakistan’s approach and emphasized that “China would always support Pakistan to fulfill the shared wishes of the two countries to ensure peace and stability in South Asia.” The Chinese Ambassador also met Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday last week.
