Exercise to take Afghan citizens out of Pakistan intensified
Islamabad: Pakistan is taking strict action against the Afghans living here. The government has intensified the exercise to take out Afghan citizens from Pakistan. The Government of Pakistan has deported them from April 1, taking action against 6,700 Afghan citizens. The Government of Pakistan has taken such a stance after the end of the time limit is over.
‘Transit’ camp taken by Afghanis
It has been reported in the media reports that the government has taken strict steps after the end of March 31. The ‘Express Tribune’ newspaper reported that 2,874 men, 1,755 females and 2,071 children were included. These people were taken to the ‘Transit’ camp at Landi Kotal near Peshawar. All of them had to go through the necessary procedure before deporting all of them in the camp.

The process of exile started in 2023
Let me tell you that the first phase of exile was started by the Government of Pakistan in September 2023. Under the first phase, 70,494 Afghan family i.e. 4,69,159 persons returned to their homeland through Tarkham border. The total number of Afghans returned under the first phase was more than 8,00,000.
Why did Afghani citizens reach Pakistan
Significantly, the forces of the former Soviet Union attacked in the 1980s. After which the Afghans started taking shelter in Pakistan due to the deteriorating security situation. The exact number of Afghan refugees living in Pakistan is not known. According to various estimates, around 2.5 million Afghan citizens are living in Pakistan. (Language)
