The phone of a judge of Rohini court was hacked by fraudsters.The judge’s friends hacked his phone and demanded money.The judge got trapped after calling on the given number.
The web of cyber crime is spreading rapidly in the country. Its latest example was seen in the capital Delhi, where an additional session judge was targeted by criminals. It is alleged that cyber criminals captured the messaging app of the judge’s mobile for six hours. During this time calls were made. Also, Rs 1.10 lakh was defrauded from his friends. Officials said that the judge of Rohini District Court was also requested to find out why no one from the messaging platform paid attention to his complaint and how his mobile service provider forwarded the call from his number to an unknown number.
In the case, the Rohini District Cyber Police has registered an FIR under sections 318 (4) and 319 (2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) related to fraud. The judge said in the complaint that on July 11 at 12:35 pm, he received a call from an unknown number on his mobile phone and was told that a ‘courier boy’ was waiting outside his house to deliver bank documents. According to the FIR shared by the Rohini Cyber Police, the Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) was asked to call the ‘courier boy’ so that he could hand over the documents to the security guard of his house. After this, a number was sent to the judge’s phone via SMS.

Phone gets hacked as soon as you make a call…
In the FIR, the ASJ said that he was waiting for some documents and since he was ‘busy with his judicial work’, he fell into their trap and called on that number. The judge has a ‘screenshot’ (picture) of the SMS. According to the FIR, when he called on that number, his messaging application account was immediately registered on another device, after which he received an SMS and his calls and SMS were diverted to the alleged (unknown) number.
The phone was being hacked till evening…
The FIR further said, ‘Meanwhile, I came to know that a person has started asking for money using my messaging account. I immediately called the police officer of the Cyber police station in Rohini.’ The judge also got his bank account blocked. Officials, citing the FIR, said that with the help of the cyber police team, he was able to use his messaging application again at around 5:20 pm.
Ask for money from friends…
He said it was found that his messaging account was last used from Siwan in Bihar and the 12:35 pm call was made from a place near Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. The ASJ said that before he could access his messaging account again, he “found out that two of my friends had transferred Rs 1.10 lakh.”
